Otto Kahn Scholarship Applications Available At Town Of Huntington High Schools

The scholarships are for Town of Huntington students planning on majoring in the arts in college.

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — Town of Huntington students who plan to major in the arts in college can pick up an application for the Otto Kahn Scholarship at their high school, Friends of OHEKA announced.

Eligible seniors must be going to college in the fall and majoring in the performing arts, visual arts or music.

Applications are available at the following high schools: Cold Spring Harbor, Half Hollow Hills East, Half Hollow Hills West, Harborfields, Huntington, John Glenn, Northport and Walt Whitman. Students should check with their guidance or principal's office for the applications, which are due April 19.

Winners will receive their awards at the annual Garden Party on June 14, and they will be invited to share their talents at the Oheka Castle gala.

"Awarding the Otto Kahn Scholarships is the highlight of our year," Ellen Schaffer, Friends of OHEKA president, said in a news release.

Friends of OHEKA has raised more than $200,000 for students since 2003.

Oheka Castle owner Gary Melius and Friends of OHEKA are proud to continue Otto Kahn's legacy of supporting the arts, according to the news release.

Friends of OHEKA is dedicated to the protection and preservation of OHEKA Castle, which is at 135 W. Gate Dr., Huntington.
