  1. Police looking for man who stole $6,500 worth of Jackets from Saks Fifth Avenue. The man stole three Moose Knuckles jackets and three Canada Goose jackets back on Dec. 17. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Huntington Patch)
  2. Northport High school senior, alumna win Grammy Award. Senior Kathryn Ruiter was a bassist in the 2020-2021 New York Youth Symphony which recorded the winning album "Works by Florence Price, Jessie Montgomery, Valerie Coleman." Stephanie Economou is a Class of 2008 graduate and won "Outstanding Original Score for Interactive Media." Economou worked on the soundtrack of "Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok."   4. The town of Oyster Bay will hire more lifeguards for the upcoming season. Even though we are in still in winter, Oyster Bay is looking to get ahead on their hiring for the 2023 season. They will be offering higher salaries for lifeguards, starting at $18 per hour. "From having the opportunity to work at one of the town's fantastic summer facilities and building confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills, to making new friends and helping others, working as a lifeguard is one of the best summer jobs around," Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino said.
