:  owners are close to closing a deal to acquire the quaint Bonbori restaurant on Elm St., which is now closed.

: The cost of busing, central to finalizing next year's South Huntington school budget, remains an open question, just a few days before the school board is scheduled to decide on its adoption.

: Middle school students would be offered after-school intramural sports as a replacement for a regular sports program, under a budget proposal outlined Wednesday night at the  school board meeting.

: The Town of Huntington annouced Wednesday the resignation of Tracy Yogman as director of the Department of Audit and Control, effective April 20. 

: A new Nordstrom Rack store will take over the space vacated by at the Huntington Shopping Center. The approximately 36,000-square-foot store is expected to open in the fall.

: The Huntington School Board spoke mostly in favor of a plan last week to revise its seasonal facility use schedule as a means to raise extra revenue — although some warned the change might cause a negative reaction from a few local groups.

: ERASE Racism, a civil rights organization founded and led by Huntington resident Elaine Gross, recently received a $25,000 donation from Community Advocates, a Roslyn Heights-based not-for-profit.

: An RV caught fire on Oakwood Road in Huntington on Saturday. There were no injuries reported.
