Pedestrian Killed In Crash In Huntington Station: Police

The man was walking in the road when he was hit by two cars, police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A pedestrian was killed in Huntington Station on Saturday night while crossing the street, Suffolk police said.

James Beck, 57, of Huntington Station, was walking in the westbound lanes of East Jericho Turnpike at Totten Avenue when he was struck first by a westbound 2009 Honda Sedan and then by a westbound 2008 Saab SUV around 8:45 p.m., police said.

Beck was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Both drivers were not injured, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash was asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
