Pedestrian Killed In Huntington Station Hit-And-Run, Driver Still Missing: Police
A 44-year-old Huntington Station man died after being struck by an SUV on New York Avenue Sunday evening, police say.
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Huntington Station Sunday evening, Suffolk County police said.
A 44-year-old man was walking west to east across New York Avenue, just south of West 19th Street, when he was struck by a gray Toyota SUV traveling northbound around 5:40 p.m., according to police.
The victim, Bacilio Mardoqueo Vasquez Vasquez, 44, of Huntington Station, was transported by ambulance to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the SUV did not stop and continued northbound on New York Avenue after the crash, according to police.
Investigators said the vehicle is believed to have front-end damage on the driver’s side.

Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit are investigating.
Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact Major Case Unit detectives at 631-852-6555 or Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
