Police ID Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Suffolk Crash

The pedestrian was walking in the roadway when he was hit, police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a Huntington Station crash on Wednesday night, Suffolk police said.

A 48-year-old Brooklyn man was driving a 2012 Toyota Suburban eastbound in front of 284 Broadway, when his car struck Earnest Salley, 73, of Melville, who was walking in the roadway, at 10:11 p.m., police said.

Salley was brought to a hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries. The driver was not injured.

The Toyota was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
