We wanted to share our thoughts on of the best Road Trip Weather planning tools available.

The winter weather has caused endless delays and traffic snafus. But weather all year round can lead to traffic problems. So many of us now use handy apps like Google Maps and IPhone maps to track our travel routes and traffic patterns. Did you know there are a handful of tools that can help you find out the weather up ahead and the impact of weather on your travel plans?

If you’re driving from Long Island to Boston, wouldn’t you want to know when the snow is going to start in Massachusetts and what that might do to the roads? If you’re driving to Washington D/C. next summer, find out about thunderstorms that might snarl traffic on Route 95. Knowing about impending weather might save you significant time and travel headaches.
