Police Investigating Reported Carjacking in Huntington Station
Victim said he was approached by a person with a machete, according to police.

Suffolk County police are investigating a report of carjacking Wednesday morning.
According to police, a man on Willets Place in Huntington Station said he was approached by a person with a machete who wanted his vehicle, a Honda Odyssey van.
The victim offered to drive the suspect rather than give up his car. En route to the suspect’s location, an altercation ensued, and the victim and suspect got out of the vehicle and were fighting on Pidgeon Hill Road when the suspect got into the vehicle and fled, police said.

The van was later recovered nearby.
Police were called at 6:45 a.m. and did not have a description of the suspect.
