Police: Melville Man Charged in Shooting on Southern State Parkway

Joe Nunez, 25, fired two shots into a vehicle Tuesday, police said.

A Melville man faces several felony charges after police say he shot a man on the Southern State Parkway on Tuesday.

According to State Police, Joe Nunez, 25, fired two shots into a vehicle that was occupied by a Brooklyn man. One bullet hit the Brooklyn man in the shoulder and the other struck the driver’s side door, police said.

The shooting was the result of a dispute between Nunez and the other man, police said.

Nunez is charged with first degree attempted assault, second degree assault and second degree criminal possession of a weapon.
