Puppy Stolen From Suffolk Pet Store: Police

A man placed a Havanese puppy inside a backpack and left the store, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — A puppy was stolen from a Huntington Station pet store on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

A man stole a male Havanese puppy from Selmer’s Pet Land, at 125 E. Jericho Turnpike, around 12:35 p.m. by placing the dog inside a backpack, police said.

The puppy is approximately 3 months old.

Police described the man as white, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a purple jacket and yarmulke. He possibly rode off on a bicycle, police said.
