Resident Evaluated For Smoke Inhalation From Centerport Fire
The blaze occurred in the home's chimney on Saturday night.
A Centerport resident was evaluated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out inside a home's chimney on Saturday night.
According to authorities, about 35 members of the Centerport Fire Department responded to the Bittner Lane home at 8:05 p.m. The fire, which was contained to the chimney, was under control within an hour. The home suffered minor smoke and water damage.
Firefighters responded to the scene with two engines, a ladder truck, an ambulance and fire police.

The resident was evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation by the Centerport Rescue Squad.
All units were under the direction of Captain Kyle McLaughlin and Lieutenant Andrew Stevenson.
