Roger Testa Wins James C. Metzger MVP Lacrosse Award
Cold Spring Harbor High School defeats Center Moriches High School in Class D Long Island Championships.

Cold Spring Harbor High School won its fourth consecutive lacrosse title by defeating Center Moriches High School 16-8 in the Class D 2025 Long Island Boys Lacrosse Championships. The game was played at East Islip Middle School on Wednesday, June 4.
Roger Testa, senior attack, scored six goals for the Seahawks and received the game's James C. Metzger MVP Award. The award was presented by James Pannell and Matt Schultz.
Pannell was a two-time All-American and career points leader at Smithtown West High School. He was an All-American at the University of Virginia and a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star. Schultz was an All-American from Smithtown West High School and a Stony Brook University First Team All-America East selection. He was selected by both the New York Lizards and Boston Cannons in the MLL Supplemental draft. Schultz recently completed his second season as head coach for Smithtown West boys lacrosse. He also is currently a training director with Rebels Lacrosse Club.

A 1970s Long Island lacrosse star and now a lacrosse benefactor, James C. Metzger received the 1977 Lt. Ray Enners Award as outstanding Suffolk County player and then was an All-American at Hofstra University. A member of the Hofstra Athletics Hall of Fame and the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame, he is founder, chairman and CEO of Whitmore – The Agency, an insurance and financial services firm in Garden City now known as Acrisure.
