Evelyn O. Vaccaro directed and produced the documentary, which was filmed for more than four years on the island of Puerto Rico and in the United States.
"I am absolutely over-the-moon about the premiere of For Satos Sake Documentary," Vaccaro told Patch. "The goal of the documentary being to educate the local people, create awareness and to inspire more kindness and compassion towards the animals. We are so eager for the world to see the struggles that the animals and rescuers face on a daily basis. This is my third full feature documentary created to help homeless animals in need and their very dedicated rescuers and I am hopeful it too will do a lot of good."

The film "highlights the incredible efforts being made by rescuers from all walks of life, for one common goal: to help save the lives of these sentient beings often found struggling to survive on their own. Filled with heartwarming moments, the story explores the resilience, strong will and heart of both the animals and rescuers."
Vaccaro's other feature documentaries are "It’s a Potcake Life," covering the plight of the Potcake dogs of the Bahamas, and "Circle of Strength," which is about the reuniting of families and animals after Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.
"Circle of Strength’ was a full length documentary that evolved from a short 60 second documentary that Vaccaro was commissioned for. Vaccaro, knowing there was more to the story, flew back to the Bahamas on her own, camera in hand, to document more. It then became a full feature on stories of survival and reuniting.
