Huntington and South Huntington schools will reopen Tuesday after a one-day shutdown following the weekend blizzard.
Both districts cited the poor condition of roads and a resulting inability to get students to class safely for closing schools and canceling all activities Monday.
They lost several days of classtime because of Hurricane Sandy and have scrambled to alter their calendars to meet state classroom time mandates.
