Second Armed Home Invasion Reported in Huntington Area in a Week

No arrests have been made in either home invasion, police say.

Suffolk County Police are investigating two armed home invasions in the Huntington area that occurred over the past week.

A man broke into a Bardwell Lane home in Huntington on Saturday to find three people inside at 1:10 a.m. The man displayed a handgun and stole jewelry and cash. No injuries were reported.

Another home invasion occurred Thursday in South Huntington in which a dog was shot. Police say two men wearing masks entered a home on Magerus Street and one of the men fired a shot through a bedroom door, striking the dog, at 8:36 p.m., police said.

The resident inside the home was not injured. The dog was transported to a veterinary hospital and is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made in either home invasion.
