Seeking Newsmakers of 2017

Entry Deadline is Jan. 26, 2018 for Leaders to be Recognized

The year 2017 has been an extraordinary one. So much so, it has inspired the Fair Media Council to unveil a new program called the Newsmaker of the Year Awards.

“The program is designed to recognize true leaders, those who step up when the easy thing would be to simply step aside,” said Jaci Clement, CEO and Executive Director of the Fair Media Council. “The bold, fearless ones who have helped shape 2017 on every level are who we are looking to recognize.


Entries are due by Jan. 26. Nominations may be made for oneself as well as for others. There is no entry fee, and no age requirement. Candidates may work in any industry and reside anywhere. A 500-word essay on why the candidate deserves such distinction is necessary, as is a bio. Links to media coverage are recommended, but not required.
