Sign Up as a Vendor for Taste of LI Festival

Festival, Marathon set for Sept. 13 at Heckscher State Park

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone invites vendors to participate in the first ever Suffolk County Marathon and Half Marathon to Support Our Veterans on Sunday, Sept. 13. The event is expected to draw approximately 10,000 visitors and has already registered more than 2,700 runners. The marathon, which begins and ends in Heckscher State Park in East Islip, will be followed by the Taste of Long Island Festival. To learn more about the marathon, please visit http://www.suffolkmarathon.com/

In addition to promoting healthy lifestyles and raising money for our local veterans, it is important to County Executive Steve Bellone that the Suffolk County Marathon is used to highlight and celebrate local food and agriculture. This Taste of Long Island Festival is a unique opportunity to show the world the incredibly diverse collection of food and drink options available across Suffolk County. In that effort, your participation is essential! To celebrate the entire breadth of Suffolk County produce and agritourism options, we are looking for vendors to host tastings and sales of fresh local produce, baked goods and value-added products, roasted corn, cheeses and ice creams, fresh seafood and shellfish, fruit juices, ciders, wines, craft beers, spirits, etc. We want the festival to have a “farmers market” feel, and we believe the Taste of Long Island Festival will be a wonderful opportu nity for your business to reach new customers, build overall brand awareness, and drive repeat visitations to Suffolk County. There will be a $100 vendors fee, with all net proceeds supporting veterans services.

We cannot accommodate local restaurants or food truck style operations. There will be access to clean, potable water but if you need electricity, you will need to provide your own generators. Lot sizes are 20’ x 20’.

If you are interested in participating in the inaugural Taste of Long Island Festival, please fill-in and send all attached forms with proof of insurance along with a check payable to the Greater Long Island Running Club for $100 as soon as possible. The event will be held at Field 6 in the attached map. If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact Linda Ottaviano at glirc@aol.com or (516) 349-7646.
