'Skate With A Cop': Suffolk Police, Town Of Huntington Team Up

The free event is scheduled for Wednesday. More than 200 people joined last year.

DIX HILLS, NY — The Suffolk County Police Department is teaming up with the Town of Huntington and the Police Athletic League to spread some holiday cheer with a free "Skate With a Cop" event, the department announced.

The event, scheduled for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, is meant to "foster positive relationships between the police department and the community," the department said.

Last year, more than 200 people joined officers on the ice for a day of fun.

The free family-friendly event is open to all ages and includes a free skate rental at the Clark Gillies Arena, at 575 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills.
