Stony Brook's Staller Center Honors Recital

Co-Winners Dorothy Pierre and Francine Leung Receive Top Piano Award

The Suffolk Piano Teachers Foundation (SPTF) will honor Dorothy Pierre, ninth grader at Smithtown Christian School in Smithtown, as First Place Co-Winner, along with Francine Leung, ninth grader at The Stony Brook School in Stony Brook, of the early advanced division at the Honors Recital and Awards Ceremony to be held at Stony Brook University's Staller Center Recital Hall on Thursday, June 2, at 5pm and 7:30pm.

As first place co-winners, Dorothy and Francine will receive their awards, cash prizes, and play their winning pieces, The Cat and the Mouse by A. Copland, and Lotus Land, Op.47, No.1 by C. Scott, respectively. Dorothy is a student of SPTF Vice President, Johanna Kosak and Francine is a student of SPTF President, Esther Chung Marks.

SPTF wishes to honor Barry Tognolini and thank Steinway Gallery of Long Island for their generous cash award donations for all first place winners of the five-level competition held in March, for first, second, and third place. SPTF is a non-profit organization. Honors recitals are free and open to the public.
