Source the Station, in an effort to provide resources to the community, hosted two seminars at the Huntington Biz Inc. on February 10th and March 6th. The seminars were held as free events to help meet the needs of business owners and community members in Huntington Station.
The February 10th Seminar was on “Blogging for Small Businesses” which focused on using blogging & vlogging to promote advertising, customer relations and transparency in business. This seminar was to encourage small business owners to utilize free forms of marketing to help grow their following and business in ways that build their “Brand.” You can read the powerpoint and lesson here.

On March 6th a seminar titled “Preparing for Employment: Being Ready to Rock the House” was held to prepare community members on their employment journeys. The focus was on tips on job searching, resume, cover letters, interviewing and securing recommendations. There were additionally representatives from Jomsom Staffing Services to answer questions and had applications for their services for attendees. Both seminars were taught by liaison Erika Forland, a former teacher and writer, who is welcoming emails from any community member who could not attend but would like to discuss the topics.
