Voters Approve South Huntington School Budget, Board Members Elected

Residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

South Huntington residents approved a 2017-18 school budget on Tuesday.

The $162,794,840 budget passed with 1,253 yes votes and 332 no votes, according to the school district. The budget is a 2.38 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 1.41 percent tax levy increase.

Residents also elected Andrew Bronson and Sidney Joyner to the South Huntington Board of Education.
