HUNTINGTON STATION, NY--South Huntington School District voters approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.

The $173,351,959 proposed budget was approved by a margin of 784-243. The budget is a 1.67 percent increase from the current year's. It's accompanied by a 2.87 percent bump in the tax levy. That is at the district's tax levy cap, so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.

Laura B. Carey (851) and Nicholas Ciappetta (863) were both re-elected to the school board after they ran unopposed.
