Voters Approve South Huntington School Budget, Board Members Elected

South Huntington residents headed to the polls Tuesday.

South Huntington residents approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $159,004,073 budget was approved by a margin of 1,058-245, according to the school district's website. The budget is a 1.88 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 0.10 percent tax levy increase.

Voters also elected incumbents Laura Carey and Nicholas Ciappetta, who ran uncontested, to the South Huntington Board of Education.
