Spend Nov. 29 with Best in Local, Regional & National News

A day of open dialogue with local, regional and national news and the people they serve: You at The News Conference: Real & Powerful Nov. 29

That's what The News Conference: Real & Powerful is all about, and an incredible array of speakers (see below) are taking part this year's Nov. 29 event. Spend the day with names you know, meet the emerging players and take part in timely panel discussions. We have topics devoted to demystifying the news process to create a media savvy news consumer, managing your reputation in a landscape defiled by fake news and bad actors, and how to establish yourself as a credible voice worthy of inclusion in the news of the day. We'll even take a look at internet addiction, and what needs to be done to protect the physical and mental health of children and families due to our technology-focused lifestyle.

We'll hold open forums featuring fireside chats with Newsday owner Pat Dolan on thefuture of local news, and then turn our attention to the state of investigative reporting with two-time Pulitzer Prize winner John Carreyrou, who unmasked the fraud behind Theranos.

In breakout sessions, you'll hear from the likes of CNN Senior Opinion Editor Rich Galant discussing how to get published on CNN.com while his son, Muckrack CEO Greg Galant talks how to go from "Best-Kept Secret to Influencer" on a panel that also features Newsday's Patricia Kitchen and Hofstra Prof. Jeffrey Morosoff. And, because it's a breakout year for the midterm election process, we'll talk how news is covering politics, religion and race -- what it's getting right, wrong and whether or not it is trustworthy. Hey, there's even a panel on establishing trust in media today.
