Reading is the perfect activity!
Portable, ageless, offers diverse topics and can be done alone or with others. Right here on Long Island we have a really cool bookstore that certainly promotes all of the above with their selection of books, events and even a cafe!
This week even wildlife got into the act. Jungle Bob from Jungle Bob's Reptile World brought his mascot; Castro the Cuban Rock Iguana to Toddler Storytime at the Book Revue in Huntington. Castro was the perfect guest as he sat quite still while Jungle Bob read I Wanna Iguana to the crowd of toddlers and caregivers.
After the reading all in attendance were encouraged to come up to meet Castro personally, watch him eat his snack and learn a bit about his species. All smiles and giggles followed.
