A Successful Prelude at Walt Whitman Shops
VIP evening featured fashion, food, cocktails, charity and giveaways
Walt Whitman Shops, recently hosted Prelude to the Ball, an exclusive VIP event to celebrate the upcoming Long Island Hospitality Ball.
Invited guests at Walt Whitman Shops had the opportunity to view a spectacular fashion show featuring looks from Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, GAP and Triumph; enjoy food from Carlyle Catering and mall eateries Brio Tuscan Grille, California Pizza Kitchen, Cirella’s at Saks Fifth Avenue and Panera Bread; cocktails and giveaways. Throughout the evening, attendees could participate in a Chinese auction of gifts from select retailers to benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. Proceeds from the Chinese auction totaled $850.
Prelude to the Ball was sponsored locally by the Center for Wealth Preservation.

“We were so thrilled to align with the Long Island Hospitality Ball and Carol M.Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund to provide guests with exclusive access to all the elements of Prelude to the Ball in our beautiful shopping environment,” commented Kathleen Herrmann, director of mall marketing and business development at Walt Whitman Shops. “Throughout the evening, attendees mingled, dined on fabulous food and cocktails, won prizes from our renowned retailers and truly enjoyed the entire experience.”

The 2015 Long Island Hospitality Ball will take place June 1 at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Hosted by Alec Baldwin, the event benefits the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund and Spirits Up. The gala was created by Keith Hart, a hospitality industry mainstay and cancer survivor, to raise funds for charity by showcasing offerings from the region’s top restaurants, wine and spirit brands, nightclubs and entertainers as well as hotels and catering halls.
