The Suds Boss Offers Vehicle Detailing Across Long Island
Thomas Pinto turned a side gig into a full-time job where he comes to you. He offers detailing, ceramic coatings, and more.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Thomas Pinto, owner of The Suds Boss, brings vehicle detailing and other services to customers across Long Island.
Pinto, 27, of Huntington Station, is based in Huntington, but he covers Long Island on a daily basis and has even gone as far as Queens to offer services including interior and exterior detailing; paint enhancers and corrections; ceramic coatings; interior steam cleanings and coronavirus disinfections.
Detailing was once a side gig for Pinto, but he enjoyed it so much, he wanted to join the business in full force. He launched The Suds Boss in the first week of 2020.

"I was doing the detailing on the side to make extra money, and it turned out to be a really good thing," Pinto told Patch.
People may reach out to Pinto via The Suds Boss Instagram page if they are interested in his services.

Pinto worked in real estate and was a part-time bus driver before the coronavirus shutdown. When the bus company he worked for shut down, and Pinto realized he was not enjoying real estate as much as he thought he would, he shifted his full attention to detailing vehicles.
"[The shutdown] left me with no choice but to fully go into the business," Pinto said. "Here I am two years later, and I’ll never look back."
Pinto has built his brand on being a mobile business, though he said he would one day like to add a brick-and-mortar shop to his repertoire. The mobile aspect of the business leads to individualized relationships with customers.
"I build very good relationships," Pinto said. "It’s not just getting dropped off to a car wash with 10 to 15 different guys. It’s just me and a couple of guys, so I make it very personal. It’s the experience of being mobile."
While the coronavirus pandemic has hurt many businesses around the world, it actually had a positive impact on The Suds Boss. Carwashes, Pinto said, were not offering interior washes. The Suds Boss provided that service along with interior disinfections.
Giving back was also a tenet of Pinto's business strategy during the pandemic. He offered discounts to first responders, EMS workers, and nurses.
"Anyone who was putting their life on the line, we were offering major discounts to them," he said.
