Suffolk Man Admits To Repeatedly Sexually Abusing Daughter: DA

"This defendant violated his critical role as a father when he abused his own child to satisfy his perverse sexual desires," the DA said.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A Huntington Station man pleaded guilty to repeatedly sexually abusing his daughter, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced Wednesday.

The man, 42, pleaded guilty to course of sexual conduct against a child after he sexually abused his daughter multiple times over three years, the DA said. His name was not released by the DA in order to protect his daughter's identity.

He is expected to be sentenced to 18 years in prison, followed by 18 years of post-release supervision.

"This defendant violated his critical role as a father when he abused his own child to satisfy his perverse sexual desires," Tierney said in a news release. "Unfortunately, this case also demonstrates the horrific reality that child sexual abuse is most often perpetrated by those in a position of trust with children, making it very unlikely that a child will feel comfortably disclosing the abuse right away. My office will continue to support child victims and ensure that predators such as this defendant are held accountable for their actions."

The father began sexually abusing his daughter in September 2018, when she was just 11 years old, until August 2022, according to court documents and the man's guilty plea.

In the summer of 2022, the victim’s mother began to feel suspicious of the father's behavior
toward their daughter and left her cell phone recording in the bedroom while she went to the
kitchen to cook, prosecutors said. The mother watched the video recording, which showed the father sexually abusing their daughter, officials said.

The mother immediately confronted the father and reported the abuse to the Suffolk County Police Department, and the man was arrested that day, authorities said.

The man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to the violent felony. He is due back in court for sentencing on Jan. 26.

He is being represented by Christopher Brocato.
