Suffolk Officer Rescues Man Who Fell Into Water At State Park
The man was brought to a hospital after falling into the water, Wednesday morning police say.

COLD SPRING HARBOR, NY — A man who fell into the inner harbor water of Cold Spring Harbor State Park Wednesday morning was rescued by a Suffolk County police officer.
Christopher Jablonski, a Second Precinct officer, responded to a 911 call regarding a 43-year-old Bayville man who fell in the water around 8:50 a.m. Jablonski found the man up to his neck.
Jablonski jumped into a small boat on the shore and used his arms to paddle out to the man, who held onto the boat while Jablonski jumped into the water and used a rope to help pull him and the boat back to shore.

The man was brought to Huntington Hospital by Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department ambulance. While in the ambulance, Second Precinct Police Officer James Garside, a member of the Suffolk County Police Medical Crisis Action Team (MedCAT), and a paramedic from the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department, provided advanced life support. Jablonski was checked out at the harbor.
