Suffolk Police Car Involved in E. Jericho Turnpike Crash

The officer and the other driver were transported to the hospital for their injuries Saturday, fire officials said.

A Suffolk County Police officer and a civilian suffered injuries during a two-car crash involving a Suffolk Police car near the border of Huntington and Dix Hills on Saturday morning, fire officials aid.

According to fire officials, the police car and another vehicle collided at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Manor Road shortly after 10 a.m.

The officer and driver of the other vehicle were injured and taken to Huntington Hospital by the Greenlawn Fire Department Rescue Squad.

About 30 Greenlawn firefighters and EMS personnel were on the scene with two rescue trucks, three ambulances and a paramedic unit.
