Three Kings Day Celebration In Huntington Station: Info

Music, food and toys are the features of the event. Housing Help Inc. is organizing the event.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — The third annual Three Kings Day Celebration is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 5, Housing Help Inc. announced.

The event would take place at Huntington Assembly of God, at 1700 New York Ave., Huntington Station.

Three Kings Day is a traditional Hispanic/Latino celebration that showcases culture, pride and appreciation to the community, according to Housing Help Inc.

Children often leave their shoes out or leave out hay for the camels on the holiday so the three kings leave them gifts.

Housing Help Inc. said it will distribute toys, nonperishable food, snacks, and housing information to keep the tradition alive.

The 2023 event's theme is “Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants.”

Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon Jr. is set to be the special guest.

Residents will be informed of evictions, foreclosures and how to prevent them. Information on other community programs will be shared as well. These resources aim to inform landlords and tenants of their rights and obligations, as well as improve communication and understanding, according to Housing Help Inc.

Walkers are welcome to the fully drive-thru event.

Families will remain in their vehicles/designated area while volunteers give them toys, nonperishable food, housing information, and surprises.

Cars can enter on East 13th St. to line up on East 14th St., and walkers can line up on the sidewalk of New York Ave., Housing Help Inc. said.

The event will feature enjoyable holiday music provided by Party 105.3 and La Fiesta 98.5, light refreshments, and toys donated by various sponsors.

Huntington Councilmen Salvatore Ferro and Dr. Dave Bernardo, as well as Guillermo Perez, the founder of Hombres de Palabra, NY, will dress up as the Three Kings. Andrew Raia, Huntington town clerk, will don a Santa Claus suit. Suffolk County Legislator Stephanie Bontempi will dress as Mrs. Claus.
