This Huntington retro diner offers guests a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

Nestled just off Main Street in Huntington Village, offers diners a unique breakfast and lunch experience in a friendly and personable atmosphere. 

With a colorful theme and vintage Huntington photos on the walls, the eatery offers lunchtime favorites such as soups of the day and salads. The menu includes comfort foods like meatloaf, southern style steak, five types of paninis and three-cheese macaroni and cheese.

In general, egg dishes are popular with customers, especially the Toast's signature egg dish — a poached egg over potato hash with hollandaise sauce. Additionally, the diner features six or seven skillet offerings served with pico de gallo, guacamole and other sides. 

“People like to come in at two o’clock and order breakfast, which a lot of places won’t do. I just think our menu is a little different than any place else in Huntington,” said Toast & Company Manager Lauran Kuntz. “[It’s] Stuff that people look for in a restaurant that a lot of other restaurants don’t have."

Like something from a Dr. Seuss book, green eggs and ham, served with guacamole and fresh chive oil, is an item not seen in other local restaurants.

For those looking for something on the sweeter side, Kuntz has a few suggestions.

“I would say the bananas Foster pancakes are really popular. We have a French toast sandwich, which is a little bit of egg, bacon, plus the French toast. So you kind of get a little bit of variety on that,” said Kuntz.

With a wait staff of eight, the restaurant also provides customers a chance to get on a personal level with servers, especially if they frequently stop by.

"The staff knows the customers, the customers know the staff and it’s great rapport between everyone,” Kuntz said.

The retro diner. which opened in 2007, serves alcohol drinks such as wine, bloody Mary's and mimosas. Fresh-squeezed orange juice, is the non-alcohol drink of choice. at the diner.

Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 62 Stewart Ave., the restaurant offers sugar-free, vegan and vegeterian menus. Eat-in, phone orders and take are also available.
