UPDATED: Tow Truck Seriously Injures Pedestrian in Huntington Station Crash

The woman was struck Thursday morning, police say.

UPDATED with additional details at 7:10 p.m.:

A Huntington Station woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a tow truck in Huntington Station on Thursday morning, police say.

According to authorities, Flores Morales, 51, was attempting to cross Depot Road, near East 3rd Street, when she was struck by a 2006 Ford tow truck traveling southbound at 9:45 a.m.

Morales was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community Ambulance to be treated for serious injuries. The tow truck driver, identified as 40-year-old East Northport Scott Rumpel, was not injured.

An inspection of the tow truck, which was owned by HCM Marine Transport, was inspected by Motor Carrier Safety Section.

HCM Marine Transport is a business located in East Northport that offers boat hauling and transport across Long Island and the surrounding area.
