Town of Huntington Approves Plan to Improve Traffic on Woodbury Road

Traffic calming resolutions are in the process of being implemented, elected officials said.

Huntington Town Board members unanimously approved a resolution that hopes to further look into options that would help improve the busy and crowded Woodbury Road in Huntington at a Town Board meeting Tuesday.

The plan calls for updated pavement markers, rumble strips, a topographic survey of curves around Woodbury Road and updated skid resistance testing.

At a meeting in June, residents discussed how to alleviate speeding and other traffic issues on Woodbury Road. The meeting discussed the results of a traffic study that examined a 2.5 mile stretch of the road. The study gave recommendations on how to improve traffic issues on the road that impact homeowners in the area.
