Town of Huntington Could Get Another Mall

The plan to build another major mall in the Town of Huntington is closer to becoming a reality.

The $80 million, 485,000-square foot mall would be located on the corner of East Jericho Turnpike and Manor Road in Elwood, News 12 reports.

This commercial development would be just over 3 miles from Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station, according to Google Maps.

The Huntington Town Board asked its planning board to change the zoning property at this location from residential to commercial so the plans for a major mall can move forward, Newsday reports.

The mall would include retail stores, offices, a fitness center and a supermarket as well as 1,929 parking spaces, 373 of which would be underground, according Newsday.
