Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison, Deputy Police Commissioner Risco Mention-Lewis and Sheriff Errol Toulon will serve as grand marshals for the parade. They will then speak at the celebration gathering at the beginning of the fair.

"Since 2010, Unity Fun Day has been a highlight of the community’s efforts to showcase the diverse people, organizations and programs that make Huntington strong!" the South Huntington School District wrote in a statement. "What started out as a small event has now grown to a day of food, fun, music and more."

The event will culminate in a fair that will have performances, food, games, vendors, attractions, and fun for everyone.

"Since the creation of Unity Day, the Town of Huntington and South Huntington schools look to identify the attributes of outstanding individuals not only within their own field, but to the community at large, that focus upon equity and equality," South Huntington Superintendent Dr. Vito D’Elia said in a news release. "Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison, Deputy Police Commissioner Risco Mention-Lewis and Sheriff Errol Toulon truly encompass all the qualities that we wish our society and nation would follow. Perseverance, compassion, and integrity are the things that have made these individuals not only leaders within the criminal justice system, but have become true mentors and role models for the surrounding Huntington community. It is our extreme pleasure to identify them for all their accomplishments, both personal and professional."
