Traffic Signal Box Art in Huntington Village to Cost $8,500

More beautifully decorated traffic signal art is coming to Huntington Village.

More traffic signal boxes in Huntington Village will soon be beautified with public art after the Huntington Town Board approved the spending of $8,500 for the installation at their February 7 meeting.

The Huntington Village Business Improvement District has agreed to pay up to $1,700 for design and installation of the art on a signal box. Five boxes will be decorated on Main Street. This project is part of the Town’s Public Art Initiative.

The Town says art on traffic signal boxes have been proven to reduce graffiti in other areas across the country.
