VIDEO: Firefighters Battle Huntington House Fire During Thunderstorm

The blaze broke out Monday afternoon, fire officials say.

A fire broke out in a Huntington home Monday afternoon as heavy thunderstorms swept through the area, according to fire officials.

Huntington Fire Department volunteers responded to the two-story Prime Avenue home, opposite Heckscher Park, to find an active fire in the attic at 4:30 p.m., fire officials say.

Firefighters stretched a hose line to the attic and one to the front door to battle the blaze, and a ladder was sent to the roof to vent the fire.
