Volunteers Beautify Gold Star Battalion Beach

Dozens of volunteers helped spruce up Gold Star Battalion Beach Saturday in Huntington.

They were taking part in Councilwoman Susan A. Berland's annual “Keep Huntington Beautiful.” Together, they planted orange, yellow and “Janie” marigolds and Blue Hawaii in each of the flower beds and at the WWII Veteran’s “Gold Star Battalion Memorial” and cleaned up waste on the beach.
