Voter's Guide: South Huntington School Budget, Board Election
What you need to know for election day.

South Huntington residents will vote on the school district’s $159,004,073 proposed budget for the 2016-17 school year on Tuesday, May 17.
The proposal calls for a 1.88 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 0.10 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.
Residents will be able to learn more about the budget at a public hearing session at Walt Whitman High School on Tuesday, May 10 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Two incumbents are running uncontested for positions on the South Huntington Board of Education. Candidates include:
- Laura Carey
- Nicholas Ciappetta
On election day, residents can vote at Walt Whitman High School, located at 301 West Hills Road in Huntington Station. Polls are open from 3-10 p.m.
