  1. Walt Whitman Shops will hold its first wellness event. The inaugural event will run today and tomorrow from noon to 6 p.m. There will be local and additional retailers from throughout Long Island that offer the latest trends in everything health and wellness. "At Walt Whitman Shops, we pride ourselves on not only being the top shopping and dining destination in Central Long Island, but also a destination for all things health and wellness," said Maria Cavanagh, director of marketing and business development at Walt Whitman Shops.   2. Police looking for two men who stole a Rolex watch in Dix Hills. On Feb. 10, two men met with the seller at a Dix Hills business and showed him a bag with $40,000 to buy the watch. They then switched the bag to one that was filled with newspaper clippings and fled with the watch. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Patch)
  3. A man was stabbed to death in West Hills Thursday afternoon. The altercation happened around 12:55 p.m. on Oakwood Road and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was arrested and police did not immediately release the name of the victim or the person arrested.
