
Students, district members, administrators and elected officials came together in commemoration of the annual Walt Whitman High School Homecoming day celebration on Saturday.
Residents were able to “go wild for Wildcats” on their own front yards while the parade marched through the residential community.
Legislator Lou D’Amaro was among the elected officials in attendance.

“I am always honored to be invited to share in the exciting tradition of Walt Whitman High School’s homecoming,” D’Amaro said in a press release. “As we marched through the community, it was wonderful to witness the overwhelming spirit and enthusiasm from all those who came out to support the school. Go Wildcats!”
The parade kicked off at 11:30 a.m. and was followed by a home football game at 2 p.m.

The Wildcats football team lost their conference game to Sachem North. The score was 25-22.
Despite the loss, the school spirit held strong throughout the homecoming day celebration.
