Walt Whitman's Terron Robinson Named NYS Wrestling Champ
Congratulations to Terron and Walt Whitman Wrestling!
Walt Whitman wrestler Terron Robinson was declared the 220-pound New York State Champion at the Times Union Center in Albany on Saturday.
The Wildcat junior defeated Ryan Ellefsen of Goshen, 9-5, to be named the undefeated New York State Champion.

During the course of the weekend, Robinson won his first match Friday morning, 16-1, and went on to win his second match of the day, 7-6. He then pinned Jake Spreckman of Clarkstown South in 1:54 to qualify for the 220-pound final that was held 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Robinson is the first Wildcat to win a state championship in wrestling since 126-pound wrestler Mike Guistizia won the title in 1978, according to Newsday.
