Western-Themed Fundraiser In Islandia To Support Long Island Veterans

ISLANDIA, NY — A Western-themed fundraiser featuring mechanical bull riding, axe throwing and casino-style games will be held in Islandia next month to raise money for programs supporting Long Island veterans.

Pal-O-Mine Equestrian will host "Red, White & Boots" on Nov. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m., at its 13-acre Islandia farm.

The event, organized in partnership with United Way of Long Island's Mission United and United Veterans Beacon House, will bring together veterans, supporters and community members for an evening of entertainment while raising funds for veteran services.

Held inside Pal-O-Mine's indoor riding arena, the fundraiser will feature food, drinks, music, axe throwing, mechanical bull riding, blackjack, roulette and other Western-themed activities. Guests are encouraged to wear boots and denim.

"This is about more than a fun night on the farm; it's about bringing people together to celebrate and support the Veterans who have given so much to our communities," said Lisa Gatti, founder and CEO of Pal-O-Mine.

"We see firsthand the difference that connection, community and access to vital programs can make for veterans and their families, and we are thrilled to partner with Mission United and United Veterans Beacon House to create an evening that celebrates our Veterans while helping ensure these life-changing services continue."

Pal-O-Mine provides free equine-assisted therapeutic programs for veterans, active-duty service members, first responders and their families. The programs are designed to promote growth, learning and healing through interactions with horses.

United Veterans Beacon House provides housing, supportive services and resources to veterans and their families, while Mission United connects veterans and military families with programs and resources.

Founded in 1995, Pal-O-Mine offers therapeutic equine programs for children and adults with disabilities, trauma survivors, veterans, first responders and others. More than 400 students participate in programs each week at its Islandia campus, which is home to 25 specially trained horses and other farm animals.

Proceeds from "Red, White & Boots" will benefit veteran programs at Pal-O-Mine and United Veterans Beacon House.

Tickets cost $75 per person and can be purchased at unitedwayli.org/RWB2026.

Event sponsors include Chubs Meats, Texas Roadhouse and Certified Cesspool and Drain.
