Here are the top three stories today in Huntington:
- Zebra, Fuzzbubble and Emerald Rising rock the Paramount. The groups have nearly five decades in the music scene and played to a sold-out crowd on Nov. 19. “It doesn’t surprise me when we sell out a room that size,” Zebra lead singer and guitarist Randy Jackson said following the group’s Nov. 19 performance at the nearly 1,600-seat Paramount in Huntington. “but the speed at which it sold out was surprising.” Click the link for photos and an event recap. - Weekend weather report brings cold temperatures but sunny skies. Expect to wear your heavy winter coat this weekend, as temperatures will be in the upper 30s to low 40s. The good news is no snow is forecasted until Friday. (Weather.com)
- Winter sports teams at Huntington High School participate in community service project. The students collected non-perishable items and all types of clothing, led by team captains. "We are proud of our teams for bringing their efforts into the greater community to make sure that those less fortunate have access to what they need this winter,” Huntington Superintendent James W. Polansky stated. “Additionally, we are beyond proud of Jessica for taking initiative. The holiday season is all about giving, but our students and staff have always been committed to doing so year-round. Just another characteristic of a very special school district community.” Athletic department officials and some coaching staff members delivered the items to Tri-CYA and Helping Hand Rescue Mission.
