6 Quail Heads Discovered Behind Elementary School
Five of the bodies were also found in the wooded area behind the school last week.

ISLIP, NY - Five decapitated quails were discovered in Islip behind an elementary school last week, the Suffolk County SPCA confirmed.
The birds were discovered on Friday behind Commack Road Elementary School on 300 Commack Road.
A total of 5 quail bodies were recovered and 6 quail heads, according to SCPA Chief Roy Gross.

"It's very scary and very disheartening to know that somebody could hurt an innocent animal and then just leave it there for anyone to see," Nancy Prior, who found the quails while walking her dog, told News 12.
The SPCA is investigating this incident as a case of possible animal cruelty.
