ISLIP, NY — A driver was injured early Tuesday after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and overturned in Islip, fire officials said.
According to the Islip Fire Department, the crash occurred around 1:24 a.m. on Moffitt Boulevard between Islip Avenue and Ferndale Boulevard.
Fire crews, along with Exchange Ambulance, arrived to find a vehicle overturned with one occupant still inside, officials said. A nearby telephone pole was snapped in half as a result of the crash.
Crews assisted the driver out of the vehicle before transferring her to Exchange EMS for treatment, fire officials said. The injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
No additional information about the cause of the crash was immediately available.
