Car Crashes Into Utility Pole In Islip; 1 Hurt: FD

ISLIP, NY — One person suffered minor injuries after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Islip on Monday afternoon, according to the Islip Fire Department.

Islip firefighters and Exchange Ambulance of the Islips responded to the intersection of Commack Road and 40th Street at about 5:26 p.m., officials said.

Responders found a single-vehicle crash with no one trapped inside the vehicle, according to the department.

The utility pole was cracked in half by the impact, and PSEG Long Island was notified to make repairs, officials said.
