Suffolk Police Officer's Family, Organ Recipient To Reunite At 5K (patch.com) — Residents in and around Islip can join donor families, transplant recipients, and advocates this Saturday at Heckscher State Park in East Islip for LiveOnNY's Suffolk County 5K For Life. The 9 a.m. run/walk honors organ donors, reunites a fallen Suffolk officer's family with an organ recipient, and raises funds to support organ donation and transplantation programs.
