• NYC Man Arrested On Arson Charge After 2 Dogs Killed In Fire At Parent's Long Island Home: Police (patch.com) — An early-morning house fire in Central Islip killed two dogs and sent five Suffolk police officers to the hospital for smoke inhalation, and investigators have charged the homeowners' son with arson and related offenses. The blaze drew multiple fire departments to East Cherry Street, and the suspect is scheduled for arraignment in Central Islip's First District Court.
   

• 1 Hurt In Crash On Express Drive South Thursday Night: Police (patch.com) — A Thursday night collision on Express Drive South in Ronkonkoma left a Northport man with non-life-threatening injuries and led to a citation for a 55-year-old Central Islip driver who police say disobeyed lane markings. The crash, near Ronkonkoma Avenue, sent the injured driver to Stony Brook University Hospital.
